CCED RAISES MENTAL HEALTH AND WELLBEING AWARENESS AT THE WORKPLACE

Muscat, 23 November 2021 – CC Energy Development recently launched a mental health campaign entitled ‘You Are NOT Alone’ to help create a stigma-free workplace. The 6-month program includes a variety of activities to ensure mental health is central for the team’s wellbeing. The ultimate goal of the campaign is to build a culture that encourages people to seek help and create healthy dialogues, rather than hide their stress

To amplify the campaign’s message, CCED is conducting 13 sessions with its team featuring key speakers and experts to talk about techniques to cope with stress and how to take care of mental health. The campaign is using a multitude of communication tools including posters, videos and emails, creating a mentally healthy workplace.

Dr. Abdulnasser Al Mawali, Occupational Health Advisor-Medical Doctor at CCED said, “The increasingly global nature of our economies, and the advances in workplace technology, mean that the nature of work is changing rapidly especially in the era of COVID-19. These changes in the nature of work can be rewarding for employees, however, they can mean that employees may experience more pressure and demands upon their cognitive, social and psychological skills. Mental health is crucial: both for the formation of these skills and their effective use in the workplace.”

He added, “CCED is always working towards providing a healthy culture and environment that is psychologically supportive to our team. We want everyone to know, You Are NOT Alone!”

In addition to the education sessions, CCED is committed to providing tools to help the team manage their mental health, such as sharing the Ministry of Health’s updated list of psychological hotline services and distributing a video on how to manage stress. Feedback was sought through a company-wide survey on the team’s current state of wellbeing and the results provided key highlights on the education program and the tools made available.
