Muscat, 11 April 2021 – CC Energy Development (CCED), along with its partners in Blocks 3 & 4, Mitsui E&P Middle East B.V. and Tethys Oil Block 3 & 4 Limited, celebrated the successful completion of the Ministry of Education’s book, “For the country positive interaction and a sense of responsibility”. A virtual ceremony was held to recognize the ideas and projects contributed to the book by all educational directorates across the Sultanate. Over the course of two years, CCED supported the Ministry’s efforts to hone the participating students’ skillsets, help unlock their potential and realize their unique value as active members of the society.
During the ceremony, Badar Al Sariri, HR and External Affairs Director at CCED said, “We recognize the importance of empowering our youth and encouraging them to expand their horizons to benefit themselves, their communities, and the country. Such programs not only give Omani youth a platform to address socio-economic challenges, but also to come together, explore and come up with innovative solutions. Today is not just about impacting the lives of these students; but about creating a legacy that benefits people across the Sultanate for years to come.”
Badriah Hamada Al Masharfiya, Head of Citizenship Studies, Department of Citizenship at the Ministry of Education said, “We would like to thank CCED and its partners for their support of this initiative, which enabled more community involvement and participation in driving the education sector forward. This is a strategic choice and a necessary requirement for Oman, like other countries who are also investing in this approach, given its impact on social development, and related sectors. In line with Oman’s Vision 2040, we believe that involving our society represented by the young generation is the main step towards having an effective and quality education system in place, while ensuring both the public and private sectors continue to collaborate to achieve this goal. This book aims to usher new paths of development across various sectors, while encouraging students to broaden their horizons and awareness of the current issues in their community in specific, the Sultanate in general and of course, the world around them.”
Signing a Memorandum of Understanding with the Ministry of Education in 2019, CCED along with its partners in Blocks 3 & 4, Mitsui E&P Middle East B.V. and Tethys Oil Block 3 & 4 Limited continues with their commitment to supporting educational and socio-economic initiatives across the Sultanate. Since the beginning of its operations in 2007, CCED and its partners has been focused on community and people development under its ‘think global, act local’ motto. The energy company’s long list of corporate social responsibility initiatives includes building new classrooms at Al Ghydarana School in Adam, supporting the development of the education through digital communications, sponsoring the 12th Rattel Wartaqi (Recite & Elevate) competition, along with many other initiatives across the fields of education, business development, as well as community and wellness.
