CCED Joins Muscat University to Drive Digital Transformation in Energy Industry

CC Energy Development (CCED) and partners, Mitsui E&P Middle East and Tethys Oil Oman, signed an agreement with Muscat University to deliver a series of online seminars on digital transformation. Bringing together leading technology experts, lecturers and key stakeholders in the industry and academia, the seminars will address digitalization in the Sultanate’s energy sector aiming to broaden understanding and help embed a Fourth Industrial Revolution (4IR) toolkit in business operations. The initiative, which will run over a period of six months, is launched in cooperation with Gulf Intelligence as a part of CCED’s efforts to champion knowledge-transfer in the energy industry.

“These learning opportunities are vital for addressing knowledge gaps in the sector and supporting the industry’s capacity for change and adaptability,” said Walter Simpson, CCED Managing Director. “We have seen first-hand how applying innovative, digitalized solutions to business operations and across supply chain networks can greatly impact efficiency and cost-saving levels, so I am delighted that we can support this  capacity-building initiative for the energy sector in Oman. These seminars will help build a skilled talent pool within the industry and facilitate the use of technology to deliver a more sustainable and effective economy for the country.”

The Muscat University seminars  align with a wider industry movement to tackle environmental sustainability and optimize key resources, including time, funds, and national talent pools. They will address a range of subjects, not limited to: the execution of transformation programs to align with frontline operational maturity; first mover advantages of adopting Block Chain technologies; The Internet of Things, Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning.

CCED has made a point of adopting technological solutions to maintain their long-term, low-cost operating model and regularly supports local upskilling opportunities in training and education.
